Jefferson Park Golf Course
(external link) provides Seattle residents with 27 holes
of golf and was the first municipal golf course in Seattle and the third golf course
in King County.
During World War II, the park was used for anti-aircraft defenses
and a U.S. Army recreational camp. Parts of the original property became a
Veterans Hospital and Asa Mercer Junior High School.
